How a Volta project runs

Four steps from enquiry to guaranteed saving.

Every step has defined deliverables and a clear exit point. If the survey says your site won't save enough to justify a unit, we tell you and stop.

01

Survey

Our technical team visits your site to carry out a voltage dependency survey, assessing your equipment and load profile on the ground. We also analyse your half-hourly consumption data (HHD) and recent monthly energy bills to build a complete picture of how your site uses electricity and where the saving sits.

For multi-site estates, we survey representative sites first before committing to a full programme. Where your existing HHD data is already available, we can start the analysis before the site visit.

We need: access to the incoming supply, a recent electricity bill or HHD export.
You receive: a survey report summarising measured voltage, load profile, and fit.
Typical duration: single site visit plus data analysis.
02

Manufacture

Your unit is custom-built in the UK to match your site's measured load and supply configuration. Every unit is manufactured to order, not pulled from stock, so the specification reflects what the survey actually found.

If the survey data doesn't support a viable saving, we tell you at this stage and stop. No unit is manufactured, no cost is committed.

We do: analysis, unit specification, UK manufacture to ISO standards.
You receive: a costed proposal with payback window, unit datasheet, and a programme for install.
Typical duration: 2-3 weeks from survey sign-off.
03

Install

Our engineers install the unit in series with your incoming supply, upstream of your distribution board. Most sites complete in a single planned visit. The install requires a short outage, typically a few hours, which we schedule against your operational calendar.

Complex sites (live manufacturing, 24/7 operations, critical healthcare) are done out-of-hours or during planned maintenance windows. We'll plan the outage with your M&E team during the proposal stage.

We do: delivery, install, commissioning, handover.
You receive: commissioning certificate, as-built drawings, unit warranty documentation.
Typical duration: 1 day on most sites; out-of-hours for critical sites.
04

Track & Guarantee

We monitor and verify the saving after install. Pre-install baseline is compared to post-install consumption at the same meter points, reconciled over matched operating periods. If the promised savings aren't achieved, we make it right.

The tracking data is yours. You can use it for internal reporting, for SECR and ESOS evidence, or to share with finance as the record of what was delivered.

You receive: ongoing savings tracking, verified reports, and a savings guarantee.
Typical duration: monitoring begins immediately post-install; first formal report at 3 months.

Start with a survey.

The first step is ours to deliver. Tell us the site, we'll tell you whether it's worth the conversation.
